That post reminds me of that other go****te Terry W, he also liked to tell us all about his meals and expected us to be enthralled.

I had a bet with a colleague that I could get this muppet on the internet to tell us what he was having for his tea every day for a week.

Smashed it

Thomas Plum,
clealy you have little or no regard for those in the higher echelons of society in that should they be reading your postings over breakfast it might curdle their eggs penedict, pey soup indeed without any hint of ham shank bits, peasant food and memories of working class upbringing, so please please for the sake of us all carry on regardless

Replied: 19th Jan 2024 at 08:35

Orrellite , People of my upbringing relied on good neighbours to donate the Ham shank bits because . ham was , out of reach of our food budget and when our nieghbours could not donate because. they themselves were struggling, we did bawt, I became a gold medalist Do Bawter and this put me in good stead in these times of, price rises and sky high costs of living yet, I'm not compaining because my Pey soop is a solid ,wholesome food made from just Peys, no sugar or added salt, no fat or unhealthy E numbered chemicals, just honest to goodness peys and tap water and I'd offer you a sample but, It goes like hot cakes,

Tom, Tom, the shank was passed round the neighbours and if you were last in line it was just the bone marrow with a spoon handle as was the case with the rack of spare ribs cut one off and pass on, there is a pinch of salt with everthing

Ah spare rib is another feast but not like the fancy ribs you get today, A bloke used to sell a 'sheet of ribs' in the pub for 60 pence, He used to travel south were ribs got clod in't bin and deemed not fit for human consumption, He brought a transit van full up the Wigan every Friday and sold them in the pubs,
My recipe for them was, just boil them till the meat left the bone, no fancy spices or sauces and when the chinese found out about them, they bought them up and sold two with barbacue sauce for £2.50 and folks from ' up the Hill' paid it and the 60p sheet of ribs were gone forever,

That's the problem of sharing information on forums. Before you know it, people will know where you live, as happened to tomplum, he posted a pic/youtube of his home and tells everyone what road he lives on. Then goes on to blame others for giving out that information

Best done in clay pot cooking, if you have access to one.

You can pick up a scrag end neck of lamb for not much cost. Do it in the oven / slow cooker or on the hob with your your preferred ingredients, herbs and root vegetables.
A very inexpensive meal
I'd prefer that to oven chips and sloppy peas.

I agree Momac the term ' scrag end' does not inspire confidence and lamb is a very fatty meat and not recommended for healthy living but, We must try to not judge , Chesh is expressing her profile as a none commoner who went to a posh skool and mummy has a rover type of girl, The northern equivalent to the 'Slone Rangers' of Chelsea, In reality she does not give away her true identity and, that speaks volumes to me, She has something to hide, Who knows what and, who cares, She is a contributor, not the best and certainly far from the worst, So I'm not putting her in the cell block with the other retar,,,,,,,,,,, whoops, I nearly said a unforgivable word then,,,,

A favourite meal I used to cook for us was ribs. We'd buy a sheet of 6/7 bacon ribs for me, and 6/7 pork ribs for him from the butcher on a Saturday. I'd lay them on oven trays to cook and I'd cook us a whole corn on the cob each, lathered in butter, with a dish of tinned potatoes (love 'em or hate 'em). It was deeelish!

Wish I could still eat that much these days at one sitting.
